| Barry Wallenstein is the author of seven collections of poetry, the most recent being Drastic Dislocations: New and Selected Poems [New York Quarterly Books 2012]. His poetry has appeared in over 100 journals, including Ploughshares, The Nation, Centennial Review, and American Poetry Review.
Among his awards are the Poetry Society of America's Lyric Poetry Prize, (l985), Pushcart Poetry Prize Nominations, 2010, 2011, resident fellowships to The Macdowell Colony, Hawthornden Castle in Scotland, and Fundación Valparaiso in Spain. In 2011 he was a resident at Casa Zia Lina on the island of Elba. Between June 2002 - June 2008, he was part of the poetry faculty at the Bear River Writers' Conference in upper Michigan. A special interest of his is presenting poetry readings in collaboration with jazz. He has made six recordings of his poetry with jazz, the most recent being Euphoria Ripens, 2008. The CD was listed one of the "Best New Releases" in the journal, All About Jazz (December 2008). In 2012 Cadence Jazz Records will release the CD Lucky These Days. He is an Emeritus Professor of literature and creative writing at the City University of New York and an editor of the journal, American Book Review. |

Vincent Chancey - French horn: Mr. Chancey has performed with the Brooklyn Philharmonic, the Pan American Symphony, the One World Symphony, the Zephyr Woodwind Quintet, and the Netherlands Opera, in Amsterdam Holland. He received a N.E.A. Grant to study jazz Horn with Jazz Horn pioneer, Julius Watkins. Chancey has more recently received a Meet the Composer Grant, and a CMA/FACE Grant to do a collaborative project with a French jazz artist, Serge Pesce. Some of his accomplishments include collaborations in Jazz with Charlie Haden, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Lionel Hampton, Randy Weston, Guus Janssen, Tom Harrell, Cassandra Wilson, Shirley Horn, Diana Krall, Mose Allison, Sun Ra, Lester Bowie, Dave Douglas, Dave Matthews, and Carla Bley. He has performed with Aretha Franklin for Pope John Paul's 80th Birthday celebration, Patty Labelle, Elvis Costello, Brandy, Ashford and Simpson, David Byrne, and Maxwell in the popular idiom. Chancey has toured extensively in North and South America, Europe, Japan, Africa, and the Middle East. He has worked with a large variety of artists and has recorded on more than 300 albums and CD's, and film soundtracts, as a composer and a player. He has taken his own groups to the Verona Festival in Italy, and the Asilah Festival in Morocco, and the Deer Isle Jazz Festival in Stonington, Maine U.S., and the Vincent Chancey quintet in the Netherlands.
